Smart Battery System

Recycle batteries and produce a backup power source.

    • Batteries (4 off 12Volt 200ah)
    • Solar Panels (6 of 250 watt)
    • Wind Turbine (400 watt max)
    • Smart Controller (talks to smart home)
  • Scope of project
    • Harness and direct solar or wind energy to recharge a battery / inverter system.
    • Send battery power to a Power inverter (2kw grid tied).
    • Manage Power to turn on only when needed, eg. when cooking.
    • Interact with other services within household using Home Assistant and ESP Home (Smart Home services).
  • Method used
    • when sun up batteries charged from solar and at night the wind turbine will take over.
    • After sunset the batteries that are available are be directed to a power inverter which can produce up to 2kw of energy to add the the house grid.
    • Detect when house draws high energy switch on the inverter to reduce load from the grid especially during cooking times.
  • Result
    • Free energy to power a house during cooking times (high energy usage devices eg Stove etc.)
